Here’s my dress of choice for my birthday meal this year!
This dress from Boohoo really caught my eye when I was filling up my online ‘bag’ with goodies for my birthday. As I had a posh meal planned at Pier64 (see my blog here) I wanted to wear something a little glam to impress my date – as you do.
I previously explained, I’m short! So for a doll standing in at 5’1″ not buying from the ‘petite’ section is a risk. That’s why I wanted to show you this successful number.
The dress, which I purchased in black, was made of a stretchy ‘crepe’ material which is handy for my curves, and is an off-the-shoulder design. I don’t know about you but I have bought other off-the-shoulder dresses before and found that trying to move your arms in them is a slight task, but I had a pleasant surprise to find out that the arms were actually stitched separately to the body of the dress, which helps loads!
With most bandeau dresses, all ladies will know, that holding the ‘girls’ up is an issue all on it’s own. With this dress, there is a panel from bust to waist and then a separate panel for the skirt which helps. The main support comes from the ‘V’ boning bar on the bust, which was so much better than just stitching!
The length was actually not too bad for the occasion, the style of the dress complemented the length on me, which I was happy with. On the Boohoo model, the length hit the knee, on me it had a good few inches under the knee, but it worked.
I accompanied the look with some black leather strapped heels from Newlook, and gave my hair volume with my Cloud9 heated rollers (see blog here).
